To mark Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the Mexican holiday of remembrance for those we have lost, we held an afternoon of joyful celebration and remembrance.Ħ. Joseph Grigely: In What Way Wham? (White Noise and Other Works, 1996-2023) opened in May and explores the visual representation of speech and sound through decades of the artist’s work.ĥ. Hill`s celebratory work examines how those from marginalized backgrounds explore joy and play, and in that spirit, we bid it farewell with a BIPoC mixer in the exhibition’s Building 5 gallery, including dancing and activities from the diaspora. To celebrate the exhibition before its close next month, join us at an After Hours event on January 13 honoring regional BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists, writers, and performers in the Berkshires. For Hill, roller coasters are public monuments to the possibility of attaining joy - which, as the artist notes, is “a critical component of social equity.” The massive installation incorporates freestanding sculptures, paintings, a stage for performances, and a rideable sculptural installation inspired by the form and function of roller coasters. Our campus is large and our parking lot is about a 5–10 minute walk to the main entrance. There is an elevator in the lobby and there are no steps required to enter the venue. Club B10 is located on the 3rd floor of B10 above the lobby. The Research & Development Store is located on the ground floor just off of the lobby.
